Our schedule has been approved by the City of Hickory for all of our CITO events for 2009.
Our first CITO event for 2009 will be at Geitner Park in Hickory, NC. I am preparing the geocache, GPSgames, and Terracaching pages now and will list links to them shortly.
We need a good turnout! Please invite friends and family. Now is a good time to demonstrate what geocaching is to your "muggle" friends.
There are geocaches from Groundspeak, GPSgames.org, and Terracaching in Geitner park.
Hope to see you there!

I had a half-hour conversation with Gary Meyers of the City of Hickory Parks and Recreation department. We "inked" the 2009 schedule for the NCFG CITO events.
Mr. Meyers told me that the City of Hickory has been well pleased with our efforts of keeping the parks clean. He and the rest of the department is very supportive of geocaching in the City of Hickory parks. I think that our CITO efforts has made a great impression on them!
Please remember...Any city government can craft a policy on geocaching activities on city property. If this ever comes to be in Hickory, I feel that Mr. Starnes and Mr. Meyers will be in our corner for the decision making process.
It is YOUR efforts that has made a difference. Please come out on February 28th to keep this relationship a positive one. CITO embodies the geocaching philosophy in fellowship and keeping the environment clean and usable for all.
